Charles Hart for Judge
Ninth Judicial Circuit — Group 1
About Charles
I have dedicated my legal career to serving individuals and families throughout the Ninth Judicial Circuit with integrity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law. As a small business owner, former Assistant State Attorney, and an experienced attorney, I understand both the responsibilities of public service and the challenges faced by working families, professionals, and local businesses in our community.
I am proud to be a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and the University of Florida, where I earned both my law degree and undergraduate degree.
Through years of courtroom experience in criminal, juvenile, dependency, family, probate, guardianship, injunction, and civil matters, I have developed a deep understanding of how judicial decisions impact real people and their lives. My experience as both an attorney and former prosecutor has taught me that effective decision-making begins with listening carefully, exercising sound judgment, and treating every person who enters the courtroom with fairness and dignity.
I believe the most effective judges allow attorneys and litigants to fully present their cases before reaching thoughtful, impartial decisions. Having practiced extensively in the Ninth Judicial Circuit since becoming an attorney, I understand the unique needs of our courts, our legal community, and the people we serve. If entrusted with the honor of serving as a judge, I will be prepared to serve effectively from day one.
I bring to this role:
A broad and diverse legal background
Significant courtroom and trial experience
Experience as a former Assistant State Attorney
The perspective of a small business owner
A lifelong commitment to helping others and giving back to the community
An understanding of the challenges attorneys face in advocating for their clients
A genuine appreciation for how overwhelming the legal system can feel for ordinary citizens
As Judge, I would work to ensure that every person who appears before the court is treated with courtesy, patience, and respect. I believe the courtroom belongs to the public, and the judicial system should be accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the community.
I am committed to listening first, leading with fairness, and upholding the integrity of the judiciary with professionalism and humility.
